From 2013-2019, Listen Closely co-founders James Waldo and Rose Hashimoto presented numerous free and low-cost chamber music concerts in their home neighborhoods of Inwood and Washington Heights in uptown Manhattan. Working with a collective of locally-based musicians, the founding team partnered with local businesses and community organizations to create accessible, culturally relevant programming for local residents living in uptown. The Listen Closely team will be forever grateful for the many musical memories and friendships formed in uptown!

For the Love of Music kids' workshop

For the Love of Music is an educational program that gives young children the opportunity to experience classical music in an exciting and engaging environment.  Through interactive live performances, guided listening, and exploratory conversations, children will discover how to listen deeply and communicate openly.  The workshops will be led by uptown-based teaching artists Katherine Liccardo and Matt Consul.

Recommended for ages 7-11 (all ages welcome). All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
