A letter from Listen Closely co-founder James Waldo:

Dear friends, 

Alyona, Sofia and I will be relocating to Madison, WI this coming August. I will be commencing studies as a University Fellow, pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts (DMA) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the tutelage of my long-time mentor Uri Vardi. This is a new chapter for my family and for Listen Closely, and I anticipate that it will be a rich time of new possibilities and learning. 

For 2017-18, Rose and I will continue Listen Closely's efforts to lift up Inwood through music. I will periodically travel back to Inwood, a place I will always call home, to participate as a presenter, as well as a cellist as I'm able. In the meantime, Alyona and I will explore ways to get musically involved in our new community - the city of Madison and surrounding areas! We will post updates periodically on this site's blog and via our newsletter, so be sure to sign our mailing list for Listen Closely developments and events in both Inwood and Madison.

It has been a true pleasure getting to know my neighbors and members of the community through the work of Listen Closely in Inwood. Let's keep working together to bring our communities together around music!
